Dr. Montgomery is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Immunology and Microbiology. He came to the school in 1983 from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was Professor of Microbiology and Chairman of the Immunology Graduate Group. Dr. Montgomery received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institute for Medical Research, London. He was recipient of a Fogarty Senior International Fellowship and was a visiting professor in the Department of Experimental Medicine at the University of Louvain in Brussels. His research is focused on immunity at mucosal surfaces.
